Is my EV compatible with Quasar 2?

Quasar 2 can charge all CCS1 vehicles. Bidirectional functionalities, however, are only permitted with certain EV makes and models. Many existing and upcoming EV models are expected to enable bidirectionality with Quasar 2 in the near future.

When will the Quasar 2 be delivered?

Quasar 2 is available for pre-orders for Kia EV9 owners or lessees, with deliveries expected for June 2025.

Will using bidirectional charging negatively affect my EV battery?

Bidirectional charging is potentially less stressful on your EV's battery than normal driving. Drawing power at a consistent and steady rate of up to 11.5kW is far less demanding of your EV battery than the frequent high-power demands of accelerating and braking. Wallbox collaborates with auto manufacturers to allow them to test our products according to their battery lifetime requirements.

Are there any Federal Tax Incentives that I can take advantage of with the Quasar 2?

Yes, you can take advantage of Federal Tax Incentives with Quasar 2 through the 30C Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit. Customers who purchase the Quasar 2 between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2032, may receive a tax credit of 30% of purchase and installation of the Quasar 2, with a max cap of $1,000. Starting in 2023, the credit now requires applicants to be located in designated census tracts (guidance and maps from the IRS coming soon) and follow prevailing wage standards to receive the full credit amounts.

Can I charge my EV using solar energy?

Yes. Using Quasar 2 and the built-in Solar Charging software, you can charge your EV with 100% solar energy or a mix of solar and grid energy. Once installed, you just need to set your preferred mode right from the Wallbox app and let your charger do the rest.
