Wallbox + PowerGo: Building EV Infrastructure Where It Matters Most

3 min read

As the EV market accelerates, expectations around charging are shifting just as fast. Drivers don’t just want more chargers, they want them in the right places. Accessible. Intelligent. And integrated into daily life.

That’s why Wallbox is proud to partner with PowerGo, one of Europe’s fastest-growing charge point operators, to bring smart, scalable, and solar-integrated EV charging to the hospitality sector, starting with high-traffic hotels in the Netherlands.

EV charging is changing. And so is where it happens.

EV charging infrastructure is no longer limited to highways and retail parks. The shift toward destination charging is well underway, and the hospitality sector is emerging as a critical enabler.

Hotels offer long dwell times, overnight stays, and a growing population of sustainability-conscious guests – making them ideal hubs for EV adoption. But while guest expectations are rising, infrastructure readiness hasn’t always kept pace.

This partnership is designed to change that. Combining PowerGo’s renewable-powered network with Wallbox’s modular charging technology to deliver a model that’s scalable, future-proof, and guest-friendly.

The rollout has already begun

This isn’t just a roadmap, it’s already in motion.

Together with Essendi, one of Europe’s leading hotel property groups, PowerGo and Wallbox have already launched charging installations at two major hotels in Amsterdam:

  • Mercure Amsterdam City
→ 6 × 22 kW AC chargers live since May
     → 2 × 150 kW DC chargers planned post-grid upgrade
  • Novotel Amsterdam City
     → 6 × 22 kW AC + 2 × 150 kW DC chargers now operational

Additional deployments are already planned across North and South Holland, including Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam.

Why this partnership works

In a crowded charging landscape, the Wallbox × PowerGo approach stands out, not just for what’s being deployed, but how it’s being done.

✅ One ecosystem, end-to-end

Wallbox offers both AC (eM4, Pulsar Pro) and DC (Supernova) solutions, fully integrated within one product ecosystem. That means simpler procurement, seamless installation, and unified management for operators.

✅ Engineered for high-traffic hospitality

From intuitive guest experience to remote monitoring and uptime optimization, Wallbox chargers are designed to perform in demanding public and semi-public environments.

✅ Infrastructure that evolves with demand

Built on a modular, interoperable foundation, both eM4 and Supernova can scale as business and energy needs grow – minimizing operational friction and maximizing long-term value.

Why hospitality, and why now?

As EV adoption grows, hotels are becoming more than just a place to stay, they’re becoming key nodes in Europe’s clean mobility infrastructure.

For operators, this is a strategic investment in guest experience, ESG commitments, and future readiness. For drivers, it’s a greener, more convenient way to travel. And for cities and countries working toward electrification targets, it’s a real-world path to scalable progress.

“At Wallbox, we develop smart charging solutions that make electrification accessible and scalable,” said Eduard Castañeda, Chief Fast Charging Officer and Co-Founder of Wallbox.

“Collaboration with PowerGo aims to deliver high-performance charging experiences in key locations, combining smart features, ease of use and robust design, while also showcasing the Wallbox portfolio.”

What’s next?

Wallbox and PowerGo are continuing to expand this deployment model across Europe, beginning with the Dutch hospitality sector but designed for replication in any high-traffic setting: from business parks to retail centers and beyond.
