First of all, I hope you and your families are well and that this situation ends as soon as possible. The health of the people, not just the ones close to us, is the most important thing at this moment. Let’s take care of each other and protect those who can’t take care of themselves. Here in Spain, every night at 8 pm, we’ve established a ritual where people come to their balconies and windows to clap and express their support for all the health workers across the country. This symbolic gesture reminds us how important solidarity and mutual support are–especially in times like these.
Today, I’d like to share with you an update on how we are handling the challenges of Coronavirus. We take our responsibility very seriously, as we have employees, partners, customers, and suppliers who depend on us.
Wallbox has been working diligently to adjust to these trying circumstances and ensure we can respond in three aspects: first and most importantly, protect the health of our employees and customers. Secondly, help support those at greater risk. And thirdly, ensure we overcome this unprecedented situation together and come out stronger.
All office teams are working remotely until authorities confirm it’s safe to do otherwise. In our factory in Barcelona, we’ve implemented shifts and strict cleaning protocols. We’re also providing personal protection equipment to our team, as well as safe transportation to and from the factory. We’re closely following the guidance and updates of the World Health Organization as well as the Ministry of Health and the government of Spain.
Apart from providing the resources for the safest possible working conditions, we’re applying our technical knowledge and industrial capabilities to expand the impact of our resources. At the moment, we’re working on two projects to produce reusable face masks. HP is coordinating one of these projects while the other is our initiative. This is our contribution to finding new, creative ways of producing this critical piece of personal protection.
We have complete clarity that the health of the people is the priority right now and that we all should help in every way we can. However, it’s also our responsibility as a company to think about the future.
Wallbox’s mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility is as important today as it was five years ago when we founded the company. And once we have overcome this pandemic, it will be as critical as ever. We believe sustainability should be at the core of how we rebuild the many industries and economies impacted.
Thanks to the measures implemented and to our incredibly committed team, so far we’ve been able to sustain operations, and all orders are being processed and shipped on time. This may sound of little importance, but continuing to serve our customers is how we protect the future of our partners, our team, and reinforce the commitment to our mission.
In the end, I hope this will help us come out stronger than before, showing that together we can overcome anything.
We’re reassessing the situation daily, and I’ll keep you updated regarding significant changes here on our blog.
Stay safe and healthy!
