  • The project supports the expansion of public EV charging infrastructure at MET – Aéroport métropolitain de Montréal’s YHU Terminal, with 120 Wallbox Pulsar Pro chargers already operational.
  • A further 48 chargers are planned as part of the airport’s ongoing development, bringing the deployment to 168 charging points.
  • The solution combines Wallbox’s Pulsar Pro chargers and Power Sharing technology with Foresta’s charging infrastructure management platform.

Wallbox (NYSE: WBX), a global provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy management solutions, and edp électrique have collaborated on the deployment of public EV charging infrastructure at MET – Aéroport métropolitain de Montréal’s YHU Terminal.

A total of 120 Wallbox Pulsar Pro charging stations are currently operational at the airport, providing charging infrastructure to support the needs of employees, visitors and airport operations. An additional 48 chargers are planned once the new building currently under construction is completed, bringing the deployment to a total of 168 charging points.

The project was developed in collaboration with edp électrique, Wallbox, Foresta, EG Électrique and Westburne, bringing together expertise across EV charging technology, infrastructure management, electrical installation and distribution. As a key project partner, edp électrique supported the integration of the different solutions and coordinated efforts between the customer, manufacturers and distributors throughout the deployment.

Wallbox’s Pulsar Pro was selected as the charging solution for the project, with its Power Sharing capabilities playing a key role in meeting the requirements of a deployment of this scale. The installation uses Power Sharing across groups of chargers, allowing available power to be distributed between charging points and supporting efficient use of the site’s electrical capacity.

The charging infrastructure is integrated with Foresta’s charging infrastructure management platform, enabling centralized management of the network and supporting payment processing. Together, the hardware and software infrastructure provide a scalable foundation designed to accommodate increasing EV charging demand over time.

“Transport hubs such as airports are an important part of the next phase of EV charging infrastructure, where scale, reliability and intelligent energy management become increasingly important,” said Ignasi Alastuey, Chief Business Officer at Wallbox. “Together with edp électrique and the broader project team, we are helping YHU build charging infrastructure that addresses current needs while providing the flexibility to continue expanding as EV adoption grows.”

The deployment forms part of the airport’s broader efforts to support increasing demand for electric vehicle charging and its sustainability objectives. The charging infrastructure serves a range of airport users and operations while providing a platform that can be expanded as demand develops.

The project also provides a scalable model for future EV charging deployments, combining smart power management with an infrastructure designed to grow alongside demand.

“This project is a strong example of what can be achieved through close collaboration between all stakeholders,” said Sabryna Barabé-Favreau, Sales Representative – Electrical Products at edp électrique. “By working closely with the airport, Wallbox and the wider project team, we were able to bring together the different components required to deliver a scalable charging infrastructure that meets the customer’s high standards and can continue growing alongside future demand.”

Once the next phase is completed, the installation will comprise 168 Wallbox Pulsar Pro chargers, further expanding the charging infrastructure available at YHU Terminal.
