UPS France & Wallbox: Advancing Fleet Electrification
UPS France, a global leader in logistics, is committed to reducing its environmental impact by transitioning to an electric vehicle fleet. To support this initiative, they required a robust and scalable charging infrastructure.
Back in 2023, UPS France selected Wallbox to install advanced charging and energy management solutions at 12 of its facilities across the country. Since then, the rapidly growing demand in and around Paris has increased the scope of the project to include almost 400 new Pulsar Pro AC chargers. This project is a key step in UPS France’s journey towards sustainability.

The Challenge
The primary challenge was to install the chargers without interrupting UPS France’s daily logistics operations. The charging infrastructure needed to integrate seamlessly with the existing parking configurations, to ensure the smooth packing and unpacking of vans.

Additionally, the management of power demand at sites with more than 50 chargers was critical to avoid electrical disruptions. To address the specific site constraints, Wallbox and the project’s partners engineered, delivered and installed a custom gantry structure to support the chargers, ensuring optimal performance and smooth operation throughout the installation process.

The Wallbox Solution
Wallbox developed a tailored solution for UPS France, incorporating a custom-designed gantry structure to house the chargers, ensuring smooth integration with their operations.

Dynamic load management was implemented to optimise energy consumption, enabling efficient charging across the entire fleet without operational interruptions.
Results
Since the launch in December 2023, the installed chargers have consumed over 200 MWh of electricity, preventing the emission of more than 90 tons of CO₂.
By April 2024, the fully operational system had reduced daily CO₂ emissions by approximately 1.5 tons.
This highlights how Wallbox’s solution has significantly contributed to UPS France’s progress toward its sustainability targets.

In Conclusion
The collaboration between UPS France and Wallbox demonstrates the potential of innovative charging solutions to support the transition to electric fleets.
“Our customers look to us for efficient, reliable and sustainable supply chain solutions. Innovative technology like our EVs ensures that we meet our customers’ needs while reducing our environmental impact.”
